iPad-with-Agent-University-LogoEducation is a key element of the AmeriLife agent experience

We consider it essential for newly contracted AmeriLife agents to become familiar with not only our sales processes and compliance practices, but also how they align with the company’s mission, vision and values.

Our agent training program – AmeriLife University – begins with a four-day orientation course during which new and experienced agents learn how we do business. It takes place monthly at our offices in Clearwater, FL, and Charlotte, NC.

Before they report to class, agents complete online pre-course work to demonstrate their grasp of basic sales functions. One of the first things they learn about is AmeriLife’s key products, including:

  • Medicare
  • Medicare Supplement insurance
  • Medicare Checklist
  • Fact Finder
  • Leadership development training for managers and branch leaders

Agents also work on mastering sales techniques, participate in role-playing with their fellow agents and set appointments by phone using actual leads furnished by the company.

Augmenting the instruction of our facilitator, sales leaders from various AmeriLife insurance offices pop in during the week, offering insights and encouragement and answering any questions students have.

During the week, agents are introduced to the AmeriLife Fast Start Program, through which they can earn bonuses for meeting personal production goals during their first 90 days on the job.

Continuous agent training

Once orientation is over, new agents working in AmeriLife insurance offices across the country continue to receive educational support.

To help them keep the momentum going, they receive access to AmeriLife University online videos and study guides delivered through our new Learning Management System (LMS).They can take advantage of these materials at any time and from any location.

For more experienced agents, AmeriLife offers a variety of continued educational resources. With their development in mind, we recently introduced a Top Agent Program, with sessions three times a year.

Finally, trainers have been positioned in key markets, including Raleigh, Atlanta, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Orlando, to provide field training on a local level.
