Coronavirus Update for Associates March 24, 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has presented AmeriLife with many unforeseen challenges, which are being addressed in new and innovative ways.

As always, the company’s highest priorities remain the safety and well-being of our associates and agents across the country. AmeriLife leaders are now meeting daily to plan the most efficient and effective ways to manage this unprecedented disruption to our normal business operations.

AmeriLife Place Staff Transitioning to Work-from-Home Status
By the end of this week, the staff located at the AmeriLife home office in Clearwater will fully transition to a work-from-home status, with the exception of a few essential functions (i.e. mailroom, scanning, building security). This includes affiliates located at AmeriLife Place: AMG, Network, Grupo and AmeriLife Direct.

AmeriLife Place associates who have not yet transitioned to work-from-home status will receive additional instructions on the transition process from their supervisors in coordination with our IT department. Please contact your supervisor with any questions.

Reminders for Individuals Transitioning to Work Remote

  • AmeriLife Place associates should ensure they bring home any materials, reference guides or personal items they feel they will need to perform their duties while working remotely
  • Associates will be unable to access the building until the company announces a return-to-the-office update
  • An employee’s first task as a remote employee is to hook up their equipment, connect the VPN and test everything to ensure no issues
    • This should be done the same day the employee transitions to a remote status
    • If there are any issues, please contact IT Support (ITSupport@AmeriLife.com or 727-216-7000) immediately
    • Please do not delay in hooking up and testing your equipment as to ensure prompt attention to any issues and to help our IT department manage the large number of employees transitioning to remote work status

AmeriLife Place Building Access
After AmeriLife Place associates have transitioned to work-from-home status, remote associates will not be able to access the building. There will be a very small contingent of staff at the building from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. to accept mail, deliveries, etc.

Doors will remain locked, and building access will be limited to a pre-approved list of individuals. Our security coordinator will be stationed at the entrance to monitor people entering the building, and will refuse access to anyone who is not pre-authorized to enter the building.

AmeriLife Career Agency Offices and Affiliates
The AmeriLife Business Continuity team continues to collaborate with our distribution leadership, including Career and our principals at the company’s affiliate locations.

At this time, our Career Agency Offices remain open, though in-person seminars have been cancelled and agents are encouraged to leverage eApps and technology to support the sales process.

We are working with our principals at our affiliate locations on a case-by-case basis to accommodate their requests to transition staff to work-from-home status.

Career and affiliate closures will be addressed as necessary based on geographic location and local guidelines.

New questions will be highlighted and displayed at the top of the document.

Please use the FAQs as a first step for answers to your questions during the coronavirus pandemic. If your question is not answered, please contact your manager or supervisor, who will work with HR and our Business Continuity Team if they are unable to answer.
