You may be aware that the federal government is considering legislation to assist in these difficult economic times. Although still under debate and being finalized, please know that AmeriLife fully intends to comply with all enacted regulations applicable to the company.
In the meantime, to help reduce the risk of employees contracting coronavirus, AmeriLife is taking immediate precautions and implementing a best-practice social distancing process. This includes encouraging the use of the phone or other technology for meetings and in-office interactions.
Starting today, AmeriLife is enacting a schedule for employees to work remotely on a rotating schedule. The goal is to limit the number of employees in offices, which can help to prevent the spread of the illness.
Select employees with company-issued laptops will be asked by Department Heads to work-from-home starting today. If you are asked to work from home, please ensure your manager has a cell phone or home phone number where you can be reached, if needed, and that you have a plan in place to regularly check-in.
We will be prioritizing desktop users to begin working from home based on risk factors, and considering any challenges in finding alternatives for child or elder care as applicable. Please contact your manager if any of these circumstances apply to you:
- Employees with pre-existing health conditions, such as heart, lung or kidney diseases
- Employees with autoimmune conditions
- Pregnant employees
Mangers have been given initial instructions to allow us to forward employees’ desk phones to employees’ cell phones if necessary. Further instructions will follow.
While this process is still being finalized and this situation continues to evolve, we wanted to make you aware of the steps AmeriLife is taking to protect our employees’ health. Please be patient as we work through these transitions and contact your manager with any questions.
We will provide additional updates on AmeriLife’s work-from-home process as soon as they become available and as a part of our daily updates as relevant.
As always, we encourage all associates to take proper precautions in their personal lives to help prevent the spread of this dangerous illness. Click here for the latest information from the CDC.
