On September 25, AmeriLife continued its community service tradition with the AmeriLife Day of Service, which encouraged employees nationwide to volunteer virtually or in person in their communities. The initiative reflects AmeriLife’s belief that empowering team members to make a difference close to home can extend the organization’s impact.

As part of the Day of Service, we held our third annual Putts for a Purpose Classic. Celebration Station hosted the event. Sponsors included Alvarez & Marsal, EnrollHere, Epic International, eSentire, SunFire and others. The turnout and participation from AmeriLife teams showed what we can accomplish when we bring our people, partners and purpose together.

AmeriLife of Hernando County hosted its second blood drive of the year with LifeSouth on Friday, October 2. For several years, the office has hosted two blood drives annually. This year, it added a giveaway table and neighboring business Cupcake Heaven gave each donor a card for a free cupcake.

This year, seven donors registered and one provided a double red-cell donation, bringing the total to eight units of donated blood. LifeSouth estimates that each blood donation can help save up to three lives. AmeriLife contributors included administrator Mishelle Bravo and Hernando County agents Jessica Favreau and Wendy Van Camp. Wendy’s husband, Jerry, also donated.

The company also honored Sonia Perez, USA Benefits Group Lead Medicare Specialist, as the newest Heart of AmeriLife honoree for her dedication and commitment to the values that shape the culture across the network. Her $250 grant from the AmeriLife Gives Back Foundation will support People Helping People in Hernando County, Spring Hill, Florida.
