AmeriLife’s Philanthropic Campaign Benefits Suncoast Hospice
Timothy O. North, CEO of Clearwater-based AmeriLife, presented a $4,675 check on behalf of the organization to the Suncoast Hospice, part of the Empath Health integrated network of care. Raised through an AmeriLife corporate headquarters community outreach campaign called the AmeriLife Football Club (AFC), the majority of AmeriLife’s donation is earmarked to benefit the Hospice’s 15th annual Beach Stroll on May 2, 2015.
For the AFC fundraiser, the third-annual such project, associates contributed money toward assisting Empath Health, and in turn, wore their college team jerseys and jeans on Fridays throughout the football season. They also gathered after normal business hours throughout the season to watch college football games at local restaurants and pubs, with refreshments provided by AmeriLife.
CEO North recently presented the proceeds of the AFC campaign to Empath Health, a non-profit organization for those of any age challenged with chronic or advanced illness.
“We appreciate the partnership with AmeriLife; it allows us to help so many in our community,” said Eva Timberlake, Circle of Caring Director with the Suncoast Hospice Foundation, the charitable arm of Empath Health for more than three decades. “The Beach Stroll’s proceeds – AmeriLife is a Stingray Sponsor – will go to enhance Empath Health’s integrated network of care.”
The 15th Annual Suncoast Hospice Beach Stroll is held simultaneously at Clearwater and St. Petersburg beaches.
