AmeriLife and SunTrust Stage ‘Rays Day’

AmeriLife Place Becomes a Virtual Ballpark for a Day

More than 300 AmeriLife Place employees dressed in shades of blue and yellow for a complex-wide Tampa Bay “Rays Day” as AmeriLife® and SunTrust Bank Robinson Humphrey orchestrated an all-day celebration of the hometown major league baseball team.

AmeriLife Place associates dressed in team jerseys and colors — complete with Tampa Bay Rays™ caps — and were treated to an outdoor “ballpark lunch” beneath a mammoth tent on August 27 as the insurance giant and the bank collaborated to host a “Rays Day” for associates.

Rays outfielder Brandon Guyer was introduced to AmeriLife Place associates during the hot dogs and hamburgers lunch and — along with Rays radio pregame show host Neil Solondz — entertained questions from the fans. Rays collectibles — from autographed caps to game jerseys — were awarded to a number of employees, as were 22 private suite tickets to the weekend’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

The day was a project underwritten by AmeriLife and SunTrust, whose Investing Banking Director Bill Nay helped host the hundreds of associates for lunch.

“We’d discussed doing something special for the employees here at AmeriLife Place, and with Rays Day, we were able to bring the Rays’ stadium experience to the entire staff,” said AmeriLife President Gary Jenkins said of the all-day event.

“These kinds of partnerships and activities create a sense of ‘ownership’ for the fans, who were hugely appreciative of the prizes and the tickets,” Jenkins said. “Going to a Ray’s game and sharing a corporate suite with close to two dozen of your co-workers is a different kind of experience for most fans.”
