AmeriLife Sponsors Weekend Charity Runs

Beach Stroll and Run for the Stars Launch Spring

AmeriLife sponsored three public and charity events on the first weekend of May as part of the nation’s largest insurance marketing group’s continuing community outreach campaigns.

Two fund-raisers for charity began the weekend on Saturday morning, May 2: the Run for the Stars Presented by AmeriLife 5K and 1-mile Fun Run in Largo’s Walsingham Park; and the dual-location Suncoast Hospice Beach Stroll, on Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach. The races began simultaneously on Saturday morning, and preceded the enormously popular 10th Annual AmeriLife Fun ‘n Country Concert Presented by 99.5 QYK on Sunday afternoon in Clearwater’s Coachman Park.

AmeriLife was a $5,000 Stingray Sponsor of the 15th annual Beach Stroll, held to benefit the Suncoast Hospice. According to officials, the two Beach Strolls had more than 500 total participants and raised $82,506.

The Team AmeriLife Walkers led the Clearwater Beach event, which began at the Palm Pavilion on north Clearwater Beach. The St. Pete Beach Stroll was held at the Sirata Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach.

At about the same time, hundreds of runners gathered in Largo’s Walsingham Park for the Run for the Stars Presented by AmeriLife. The 8 a.m. race – a fast course 5K along Walsingham Lake for runners followed by a one-mile “fun run” for children  – benefitted Tutterow Stars, a local 501(c)3 charity. Organizers said there were 302 runners and around $6,000 was raised.

The races preceded by a day the AmeriLife Fun ‘n Country Concert in Coachman Park on Sunday afternoon. More than 7,000 country music fans filled the bayfront park to hear top country and western music acts perform before the fireworks finale.

Founded in 1971, Clearwater-based AmeriLife represents more than 30 national insurance carriers; has 13 individual marketing organizations; has 33 branch locations across America; and works over 100,000 independent insurance agents across the country.
