Many AmeriLife associates are working remotely and are new to the process of using a virtual private network (VPN). A VPN enables associates to access the AmeriLife network while working remotely as if they were working from their offices.

Questions on how to connect to the Cisco VPN when working remote? Click here for instructions.

The AmeriLife IT Department wants to remind associates who are working remotely that the VPN automatically disconnects each evening as a security measure. Associates must log into the VPN daily to access the AmeriLife network at the start of each business day.

Please contact ITSupport@AmeriLife.com if you have any technical questions or issues, with your VPN or otherwise.

Social Distancing Observations
Over the past few weeks, different businesses have been making the practice of social distancing easier to accomplish. Check out the following list of tips from members of the AmeriLife team:

  • Lowe’s has positioned its staff behind Plexiglas partitions, which allows customers to walk in to shop. Other home improvement stores are limiting the number of customers into the store.
  • Local grocery stores are making deliveries, some free of charge.
  • Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub and Postmates have reduced, or in some cases, eliminated delivery charges.
  • Some local restaurants are have set up their lobbies like small grocery stores and are selling uncooked food (and even paper goods) at cost or very reasonable prices. Restaurants in the Tampa Bay area offering this service during specific hours include Island Way Grill, Salt Rock Grill and Rumba’s.
