AmeriLife, a Clearwater-based company and industry leader in developing, marketing and distributing annuity, life and health insurance, has committed to a one-year sponsorship with the American Heart Association Tampa Bay.

As part of this sponsorship, AmeriLife will support the 2017 Tampa Bay Heart Walk by promoting heart healthy initiatives to customers and associates using AHA resources, such as heart disease prevention tip sheets, newsletters, cookbooks and healthy living guides.

“Protecting American’s health and financial future is at the core of what we do,” said AmeriLife CEO Scott R. Perry. “The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk is a great opportunity for our customers and associates to participate in cities across the country where they live and work.”

The Heart Walk is a colorful, family-friendly event dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke – the first and fifth leading cause of death among Americans respectively. The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Raymond James Stadium and is the second largest Heart Walk in the country. AmeriLife has committed to raising $15,000 for the Heart Walk and the company’s EVP of Business Development, Pete Adkins, has joined the local Heart Walk cabinet and has personally raised money for the walk.

“I am honored to donate my time and money to such an impactful event that promotes a heart healthy lifestyle for our customers and associates,” said Adkins.

In addition to its sponsorship, AmeriLife is committed to the health of its employees and is launching an employee wellness campaign, centered around the AHA’s Workplace Health Solutions. This is a continuous quality improvement program that provides tools and resources to help employers engage employees and track their progress toward ideal heart health.
