amerilife celebarates telethon

AmeriLife, the nation’s largest, privately held annuity, life and health organization on the senior market today, will be holding a check presentation ceremony for All Children’s Hospital on Sunday, June 6 at the All Children’s Hospital Telethon starting at 1:00 p.m. AmeriLife is a Corporate Grand Donor of this year’s telethon, an event held to support the only freestanding children’s hospital on Florida's west coast.
In addition, more than 20 AmeriLife employees volunteered to staff the telethon’s phone bank, as the fundraising event promises to be one of the biggest celebrations in its 27-year history.

“This is the first time we will be broadcasting from our new, million-square-foot St. Petersburg facility,” says Stephanie Hall, director of the Annual Giving Telethon.  “One of the many miracles we will be commemorating is the completion of our new, ten-story All Children’s Hospital and adjacent Outpatient Care Center.”

This award-winning, pediatric hospital has drawn patients from all 50 states and over 35 foreign countries, and its childhood cancer program earned a 2005 Award of Excellence from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. This program has touched many families, including one from AmeriLife.

“My nephew, Matthew had his first brain tumor surgery at All Children’s Hospital when he was two years old,” says David Rainwater, president of the AmeriLife Career Agency. "The hospital’s doctors and nurses have been a blessing in his life through his numerous surgeries and shunt revisions. Matthew has not only been touched by their expert surgeons’ hands, but by the staff’s compassion as well. The most wonderful part of his recovery is that Matthew is now 22 and plans to dedicate his own life to spreading compassion as a missionary.”
